Introduction:

Technicon Design have a new and exciting opportunity for a Project Manager – 3D modelling.
Location: Turin, Italy.
Duration: The contract start date is asap, ongoing.

Description:
We are looking for a Studio Project Manager for a new set up in our Turin Studio – 3D Modelling . 
The selected candidate has a key role to manage the program deliverables within the department and assure top quality project deliveries which significantly contributes to client’s products and the total business result, reporting directly to the Design Director.
  • Encourage and drive the team to development and achieve world class properties. 
    
    • Secure delivery of agreed program content at the required time, at agreed cost and with the right quality. 
    
    • Report project status to line organization as well as the Department management team according to the agreed processes and formats (e.g. Program Status Reports (PSR) etc). 
    
    • Lead the weekly Technical Program Meeting (TPM-S) and prepare issues for escalation at the Program Control Meeting (PCM-S). 
    
    • Direct contact with necessary departments within R&D and actively take part and drive the cross functional work within the department and unit. 
    
    • The SPL has a leading role within the department and will be an important contributor in the development of the Studio in Turin.
Responsibilities:-
  • Manage the internal and external (3rd party) surfacing teams.
  • Interrogate engineering inputs, geometry and sections to understand the impact on surface design and quality.
  • Lead the cross functional surface quality review process.#
  • Participate in integration meetings between Engineering, Design, Program management and Suppliers to ensure the right quality of inputs.
  • Participate in surface reference model and tooling reference model review process to identify surface quality issues.
  • Manage the surfacing transition process from the Italy studio to other studios.
  • Daily liaison with Studio engineering and the lead designer.
  • Provide technical information and support to Senior Management for design reviews.
  • Plan and prioritise own workload as well as delegating workload.
  • Quickly solve problems and to act independently, make decisions under pressure and take responsibility for the outcome.
  • Work closely with overseas engineering and manufacturing teams to develop feasible CAS/Class A surface data.
  • You will be an experienced Lead Digital Modeller from within a similar role and environment.
Required qualifications:- 
• Practical and theoretical knowledge about product development. 
• Several years of experience from leading product development assignments within Digital.
  • Modelling (Alias/Icem-Surf/VRed/Grasshopper/Sub-D/Blender/Catia V5 additional bonus).
  • Concept through to Technical A Class Modelling. 
    
    • Ensure Surface quality check prior to client transfer ensuring tolerance adherence and design intent is met.
  • Able to deliver Class A results very quickly in Alias to a highly professional standard
    
    • Advance modelling and Alias/ICEM best practice training support and advice to all Digital employees.
    
    • Ability to motivate a team to deliver on time, at agreed cost with the right quality both in product and in execution. 
    
    • Fluent in English, Italian is a preference to develop the local market, other languages advantageous for International opportunities. 
    
    • Driver’s license (B). 
    
    • Technical education on University level (Master of Science/BA in Design or similar).
