The Alias Automotive Beginners Training provides the attendees with the essential know-how to get familiar to the Alias working environment and basic work flows.
The course explains the Alias Automotive interface to the users and shows how to navigate and deal with 3D geometry effectively. Attendees will learn about data import/export and data conversion, construction settings and how to handle large package data files. The acquired skills create a solid foundation for succeeding courses like the Advanced Concept Modelling training.
This training is also recommended for Maya Polygon Modellers to get to know the most essential Alias tools to import and handle 3D assets created in Alias.
Alias Automotive Class-A surfacing course
The automotive Class-A surfacing course for Alias Automotive - has been created for advanced Alias users with a minimum of Alias level 3 knowledge who regularly use Alias for product development or visualisation purposes.
Participants will be introduced to the terminology used in the automotive surfacing process. The course will provide profound knowledge, strategies and workflows necessary to create an efficient automotive Class-A surfacing process of the highest standard.
Advanced user interface handling for maximized workflows, efficient reverse engineering workflows, advanced data quality evaluation and the incorporation of package data to generate totally feasible data are just some topics covered by this challenging training course.
Surfacing Software Transition
The surfacing software transition courses - are generated by Technicon Designs multi system users with daily hands-on experience in Class-A projects.
The courses are designed for surfacing specialists with in-depth knowledge of Class-A surfacing for automotive exterior and interior development.
Focused on the similarities and differences of AliasStudio compared with other software systems, we introduce not only the AliasStudio user interface but also advanced Alias modeling and surface evaluation strategies. This helps to adapt the advantages of the surfacers' individual Class-A workflows and experiences to the new tool AliasStudio.
Advanced Concept Modelling with Alias Automotive
Designed to enable the attendees to take their design ideas from first concept and sketch into real 3D data of the virtual space of Alias Studio.
Trainees learn efficient concept modelling strategies to give their ideas shape and style as free-form surfaces and incorporate package information and other criteria into the development of realistic 3D models. They also learn to visualise these data with the real-time visualisation tools of AliasStudio. Following this, the participants will be able to analyse and discuss shape and styling of their objects as well as their interaction with other objects and criteria. Profound knowledge of automotive design and good knowledge of today’s standard design software systems are necessary prerequisites for successful participation in the course.
General Alias surfacing training for Clay modellers
The integration of digital data into the styling process of cars is more and more taking place. Not only the need for simultaneous engineering but also digital prototyping will push the implementation of digital workflows into the car styling processes in future.
Just as photography (even if it is digital) could not replace painting, virtual modelling and visualisation will not completely replace the need for physical scale and full scale models. However, they will influence the amount and type of the manual modelling work needed.
We teach experienced clay modellers how to use Autodesk Surfacing software to enable them to transfer their knowledge of shaping car exteriors and interiors into digital surfacing.
Intensive user interface training and principal modelling strategies to highlight the similarities and differences to the clay modelling strategies are going to be taught, as well as data handling between different systems, data quality evaluation of the created data, preferred settings etc. This will enlarge your portfolio and keep it up to date with the needs of the car design process today and in the future.
